Home Built Cabbing Machine

Posted by Keith on 10/3/2016 to News
So over the last couple of months I have been building my own cabbing Machine.

I have fitted the polishing head this week and tested it, Definitely works well. I feel the head spins a bit fast but I am building a separate polisher/sander so i will slow it down to a better speed. I am using Diamond Grinding Wheels and Expandable Sanding Drums, all 8". My water system recirculates the water, (good for level 3 water restrictions :) ).

I will talk more about this over the next few blogs. If anyone is interested in doing this themselves, contact me for more info.

I know it's been 3yrs.,but it looks great. I'm just getting started and want to build my first cabber...what were the grits on your wheels...and what's your thoughts on 8"-3" expandables... you know the second one is better than the first one,but expensive so I want to build correctly

Hi Joe, The hard wheels are Textured #80 & #100 and a Flat #220. I like the expandable sanding drums, i have them on this machine with diamond resin belts. intial setup is a touch more expensive but then its quite a bit cheaper. Cheers Keith
